The Ronald McDonald House serves families of children that must travel far from home for critical medical care. Charlottesville’s House is one of nearly 400 across the globe that provides families with lodging, meals, transportation, community, and comfort as they go through the stressful experience of having a sick child. The House provides these services free of charge, which means it relies heavily on charitable donations to carry out its mission. Each $1,000 raised through Jack Fest will help support a family’s needs for about 1 week. JackFest also supports UVA Children's Hospital. Many families that travel long distances for care at UVA stay for weeks or months at the Ronald McDonald House.
